ASSIGNMENTS
WHAT ARE THE ASSIGNMENTS?
- Each assignment will simply be an essay or summary written on the subject matter of the course.
- Bible University requires one assignment to be completed for each course in a program.
- Each assignment will be written using the course material and required readings. Other sources may be used sparingly but must be referenced.
- All assignments are open-book. Memorization is not required.
- When all the required assignments are completed within a given program, the student is deemed to have completed that program and a Diploma for that program will be emailed to the student.
- Direct copying of any information or other web pages without proper references is strictly forbidden and may result in the student being expelled from their program. Students are not to submit work which has been completed by someone else. Each assignment is to be written by the student in the student's own words.
WHAT IS THE ASSIGNMENT LAYOUT?
- Certificate programs require assignments to be a minimum of 500 words in length, which is approximately one page single spaced.
- Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate programs require assignments to be a minimum of 1000 words in length, which is approximately two pages single spaced.
- Assignments should be written in an essay format. Please work with your Professor if you do not know how to write an essay or do an internet search on how to do an essay.
- The assignments must be written in English. Leniency will be given to those who do not use English as their first language, but it is expected that each student will use proper grammar and correct spelling. Poor grammar and spelling will lower your grade.
- Students are to upload their assignments via each Assignments page to Bible University when they are completed. The assignments are to be submitted in one of the following formats: Wordperfect (.wpd), Word (.doc), Rich Text Format (.rtf), Text (.txt), or Portable Document Format (.pdf). Assignments not uploaded in one of these formats will not be marked.
HOW ARE THE ASSIGNMENTS MARKED?
- A+ = 100%
- A = 90% - 99%
- B = 80% - 89%
- C = 70% - 79%
- D = 60% - 69%
- Rework = 0% - 59%: If the assignment is deemed unsatisfactory, the assignment will be marked "Rework" and will have comments from the Professor. The student will then redo the assignment and resubmit it for marking. Professors will work with students until they have submitted a satisfactory paper. There is never a mark of Fail given to a student. Everyone is given the opportunity to pass their assignments.
- Some common issues that will lower a student's grade are: poor spelling, poor grammar, poor writing style, the assignment is not written in an essay format, not using any of the course material in the essay, and not referencing sources from outside of the course material.
- Professors will aim for a 7 day maximum time frame between assignments being submitted and being marked.
HOW ARE THE ASSIGNMENTS SUBMITTED?
- Each course contains a corresponding assignment.
- The assignment should first be written in a word processing program and saved in a format which has been approved by Bible University.
- Each assignment page contains an area where the student can upload their assignment.
- Once the assignment is submitted and uploaded, it will be marked by their Professor.
- Because all Professors are volunteers, students are asked to be patient to give their Professor time to review and mark their assignments.
- Students may email their Professors with any questions or concerns with regards to their assignments.
ARE THE ASSIGNMENTS KEPT ON FILE?
- Assignments will be kept on file until the completion of the student's program.
- After that time, the student's marks will be recorded but their assignments will be removed from the database.
THE THESIS
- The Master's and Doctorate Programs require a Thesis to be completed as a part of their programs.
- The Master's Program requires the Thesis to be no less than 10,000 words.
- The Doctorate Program requires the Thesis to be no less than 15,000 words.
- The topic of the Thesis must first be approved by the student's Professor.
- Each student will work with their Professor to complete a proper Thesis. Please contact your Professor or conduct an internet search to learn how to complete a proper Thesis.
- The Thesis should be completed at the time of the completion of the program. If the student needs more time to complete their Thesis, they should seek permission from their Professor.
- The Thesis is to be written by the student. Any sources used should be referenced. Any copying from sources which are not referenced could result in expulsion.
DIPLOMAS AND TRANSCRIPTS
